At Sea Barn Racing, we realise that our horses’ success is dependent on the people who manage and care for them.

Our small but professional team is geared to getting the best possible performance from the available resources.

Overall control of Sea Barn Racing rests with Public Licensed Trainer Mr John Coombe.

Mr Coombe held a permit for many years but since 1999 has held a full public licence. Mr Coombe’s experience has mostly been with horses over the sticks, but in 2008 he was also granted a licence to train for the flat.

Mr Coombe is assisted by daughter Miranda Roberts and her highly-experienced husband, John.

Miranda has race-ridden and also gained valuable experience from top yards in England and Ireland.

John also rides out occasionally and is in charge of the gallops and overseeing the morning exercise. John has been involved with horse-racing since he left school. His early years spent with Tim Forster gave him a well respected grounding.

John rode winners pointing and under rules. He has worked with some of the top names in the business and trained over 100 winners.

Sam Clarke has worked with Sea Barn Racing for 18 months. She has a degree in Equine Studies BSc (hons) gained at Sparsholt College. Sam also has experience with dressage and eventing which is invaluable when producing young horses.

Point-to-Point rider, Luke Riley is another young-blood keen to do well at Sea Barn Racing. Luke has lots of experience from a childhood of competing on horses and ponies.

Luke grew up with a determination to be a jockey and came to us on weekends whilst still at school. Luke’s biggest achievement so far was riding 4 winners in his debut season Point-to-Pointing. He’s is now working with us schooling and work-riding.
